Why do you need a Will?

If you die without a valid Will, your estate will be intestate.  This means that the law of the State of Ohio will direct how the assets of your estate will be settled.  Intestate estates are subject to the legal process known as probate.  The probate court serves as the forum for the legal process of transferring the decedent's property to the heirs under the law.  Since no executor was named, a judge appoints an administrator.

Most people would like their assets to be distributed in a particular way to their heirs.  At the very least, this means that most people want and need a Will.  We encourage you to contact our office for a consultation regarding estate planning.
